Food Empowerment Project turned 15 years old in 2022. It was a big year for us, and as our 2022 year in review details, we made some major strides in our effort to show people how our food choices impact animals, humans, and the planet.
Among the achievements you will note:
We released our anti-dairy booklet One Glass at a Time and published “Got Colonization?” anti-dairy billboards in California and Wisconsin. They were so successful we were later offered an opportunity to publish discounted ads in numerous local Wisconsin newspapers with the same message.
For 2022’s School Supply Drive for the children of farm workers, we distributed 980 backpacks filled with notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essential supplies.
We redesigned our Chocolate List app, making it easier than ever to navigate while you browse for vegan chocolates.
We stood by Amy’s Kitchen workers when more than 300 of them were laid off in San José. These workers believe it was due to their attempts to unionize. We also organized media coverage, rallies, and press conferences.
It is because of your commitment that we continue to succeed and develop as an organization, and we are so grateful! F.E.P. is recognized as a reliable authority on our core issues―even cited by the United Nations. We’ve grown steadily and responsibly, working with many community groups and government agencies.
Thanks to supporters like you, our first 15 years were both inspiring and productive. Fifteen years of vegan education and outreach. Fifteen years of fighting for farm workers’ rights. Fifteen years of advocating for access to healthy foods. Fifteen years of raising awareness about the worst forms of child labor in the chocolate industry and holding corporations accountable. Fifteen years of connecting these issues, creating tools for change, and empowering people to make a difference.
We hope you enjoy reading about the successes you helped make happen—and we hope you continue to stand with us during the next 15 years.
