Our Collective Model
Our Collective Model
As a vegan food justice organization that believes in justice and liberation for all human and non-human animals, Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.) now operates as a collective model. This means that all team members are equally responsible for our organization and encouraged to contribute to have a voice in our day-to-day decisions. As we begin our 17th year, this collaborative spirit improves how we operate and amplifies our efforts in the fight for vegan food justice for all human and non-human animals as we work to transform the food system alongside our supporters.
Our new collective model is not just a change in operations, but a reflection of our core values. We advocate for justice and compassion for all living beings, and this inclusive and transformative shift is a testament to that. It is a natural evolution of our organization, and we hope it serves as a model for other nonprofits to follow, aligning their structures with their values.
This leadership model enhances our collective ability to pursue OUR shared goals of a more just and compassionate food system that doesn’t leave anyone behind. Together, we are laying the groundwork for a more just world that proves collective liberation is vital to achieving long-term success and making a lasting difference for those we seek to serve—and, more importantly, embodies the world we want to see.
By using a collective model, we’re embracing the mission of F.E.P. is our boss, not each other.
