School Supply Drive 2026 Recap

We so appreciate all your donations to our recent School Supply Drive for the children of farm workers! F.E.P. has been coordinating this event for 13 years, and what began as a simple effort to collect and distribute school essentials has grown into a major initiative that takes us months to organize. Thanks to your compassion and generosity, we surpassed our goal and delivered 250 backpacks filled with school supplies last month!
Our first distribution location was in Sacramento, where we had 200 backpacks, with the last backpack going to the final child in line (which happened to be the backpack he was hoping for!), allowing us to provide the perfect number of backpacks for every child who attended. Then, with the help of NorCal Resist, this year’s drive expanded to also include the children of migrant workers; Tyra Willis, our communications team member, delivered 50 backpacks to the Central Valley, providing school essentials to a community we have historically supported through this drive. It was important to us that we show our solidarity to migrants, especially during a time where ICE is continuing to kidnap our neighbors.
Farm workers feed our communities every day and deserve our solidarity, while migrant families strengthen our communities and neighborhoods. We could not have had such a successful School Supply Drive without you and without the support of many hard-working volunteers.
