Eating Vegan in College

Introduction

Eating nourishing meals in college is often very difficult for students. Those who are interested in eating vegan may have an increasingly difficult time as consistent accessibility to nourishing vegan food is frequently minimal. Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.) acknowledges that being vegan might be difficult for some as there are many systemic issues that have caused difficulty in food accessibility for many groups of people, largely BIPOC communities. In this resource, we include many ways to advocate for vegan foods as well as support a vegan lifestyle with recognition of the many challenges college students face.

We welcome non-vegans, the vegan-curious, and vegans alike to utilize this resource and learn about veganism and more specifically eating vegan in college to support a more just, sustainable, and compassionate food system. For many, college is a time for growth and transformation; it is never too late to start your vegan journey.
